This year, Airband is proud to be sponsoring the bi-yearly National Parks Conference, that will be taking place on 14-16th October 2015.
Every two years all 15 UK National Parks use this opportunity to meet up and consider a particular theme, learn from each other and talk with other partners – each time being hosted by a different National Park.
What is the National Parks Conference about?
This year it’s the turn of Dartmoor National Park to host, with a theme of ‘National Parks: There for You’, providing a platform to consider the value of the UK’s National Parks, current challenges and opportunities that are being faced, and future direction.
The conference is a key event regarding the future of the UK’s finest landscapes and the welfare of the communities that live within them, something that Airband is focused on and passionate about.
What is Airband’s role across Dartmoor and Exmoor?
Our aim is to provide rural areas with access to high speed, quality broadband without compromising the landscape – utilising innovative, over-ground wireless technology.
We’re rolling out a network across Dartmoor and Exmoor as part of the Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) scheme. CDS is a local authority led partnership, set up to deliver superfast broadband infrastructure to areas not being reached by commercial investment. We’ve been selected to deliver the programme, tailoring our solution to the local environment, ensuring a sympathetic approach to the geography and natural beauty of the area.
