A Guide to WiFi Calling

Wifi Calling

Traditionally, calls from mobiles rely on mobile phone signal provided by masts situated all over the country, but as you know (and may suffer from!), you’re not always in a great service area – particularly if you live or work rurally.

What is WiFi Calling?

In order to combat poor phone signal, WiFi Calling is a service for Android and iOS smartphones that allows you to make and receive calls (and send messages) over a WiFi connection – no traditional phone signal required!

Which networks allow WiFi Calling?

UK networks that currently offer WiFi calling are EE, Vodaphone, O2 and Three.

It’s worth noting that not all smartphones have WiFi Calling ability. If this is the case, don’t panic! You can download easy to use applications that offer WiFi Calling and Messaging, for example, WhatsApp and Skype.

How do I setup WiFi Calling?

Each provider has it’s own handy guide to setting up WiFi calling:

Set up WiFi Calling on Vodaphone

Set up WiFi Calling on EE

Set up WiFi Calling on Three

Set up WiFi Calling on O2

The installation engineers were efficient, competent and polite and we had the internet up and running immediately.
