Fun things to do online…

The Internet has its danger spots but it can be a really fun place to visit as well. With an endless list of things you can do to while away time, we’d like to share some of what we’ve discovered in our quest for testing out the broadband we supply you with.

Googlewhacking – and yes, it’s as wacky as it sounds.

Type two words into the search box of Google and try and find a combination that comes up with just one answer. With this popular search engine having an endless amount of information, it’s actually much harder than it looks!

Broadcast videos.

We’re sure you’ve watched videos of other people on You Tube – but why not have a go at uploading a video yourself? You never know, it might not be long before you’re spotted and become an international superstar!

Unsure what to cook for dinner?

Type the ingredients you have into Google and, very easily, you can find a recipe that you’ll be able to create. Simple!

Explore the world using Google Maps.

You can visit anywhere in the world – and using Street View, you can essentially walk down a street absolutely anywhere! Where will you go first…? The crashing Niagara Falls? The streets of Paris? Hollywood Boulevard?

Discover how clever you are by using one of the many free IQ tests online!

You could complete quizzes to find out your personality type, what type of pet you should get and even how many children you might have. (Of course, you must take these with a pinch of salt!)

Research your family history

There are many family history sites now available for the general public to use. Quite often, they even have copies of certificates and can tell you a great deal about your past family members once you’ve tracked them down in their system.

Learn a new skill.

Yes, it’s true. There are so many sites these days that offer information on anything and everything. So, if you’d like some help looking through a poem by Shakespeare, some guidance on how to seal a bath or a hint on how to perform a card trick, it’s all available to you on the internet.

The internet really is a great place to visit – so, have a look around it! Explore and discover the wonders of the World Wide Web!

Just to say that everything has now been connected and fine tuned. Just done a speed test with Jon and I'm getting great speeds beyond my wildest dreams.
